CULVER-STOCKTON WILDCAT ATHLETICS

Fretwell takes over Classy 'Cats reins

Katie Fretwell has been named Culver-Stockton College's Classy 'Cats dance team coach as announced by Athletic Director Greg McVey recently. She succeeds Misty McBee, who will concentrate on her job as the Senior Associate Director of Admissions.

"Katie will be an outstanding addition to our athletic department," said McVey. "Her passion for C-SC will serve her well as she guides our dance team to new heights. I am looking forward to working alongside her as we continue our positive progress."

Fretwell, who works for the Social Security Administration as a claims representative, graduated from Culver-Stockton in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and business administration. She spent two-plus seasons as a member of the Classy 'Cats during her undergraduate days, including twice competing at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Spirit Squad championships.

"I'm very excited to be given the opportunity to be the dance coach at Culver-Stockton," said Fretwell. "The team has so much potential and I have so many ideas to help the team become a success. I hope to help the program grow while I am the coach."

The Classy 'Cats competed in the HAAC championships in February and placed second in the open dance division. They scored 155.5 points, which was 11.5 points higher than third-place Graceland University.
