Cheer Competes in Arch City Classic, Cougar Classic over the Weekend
The Culver-Stockton College cheer team competed in a pair of competitions over the weekend of Feb. 20-21.
On Friday, the compete in two rounds at the Arch City Classic hosted by the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP) in St. Louis, Mo.
The Wildcats finished fourth out of five squads in the first round of competition with a score of 69.68 points. Indiana Wesleyan won the opening battle with 87.63 points.
In their second routine Friday, the Wildcats registered a slightly lower score of 69.52 tand placed third out of three teams competing. UHSP won round two with a score of 76.18, while Columbia (Mo.) finished second with a score of 72.33.
On Saturday, C-SC moved about two hours west to the Cougar Classic on the campus of Columbia College in Columbia, Mo.
In round one, the Wildcats registered its highest score in program history with 76.25 total points. The mark was good for fifth place in the six-team field. Taylor (Ind.) won round one with a score of 93.47.
In round two, C-SC accumulated a score of 76.63, setting a new team-high. The performance was good for a fourth place finish. Avila (Mo.) won round two with a score of 87.18.
The Wildcats are slated to compete this Sunday, March 1, at the Fighting Bees Classic at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.
