Football Wildcats Fall to Graceland in Final Home Game

The offensive struggles of the Culver-Stockton football team continued Saturday as the Wildcats hosted Graceland University at Ellison Poulton Stadium.

The Yellowjackets registered interceptions on the Wildcats' first two possessions and turned both into touchdowns to jump out to a 13-0 first quarter lead en route to a 47-7 Heart of America Athletic Conference North Division victory.

Graceland added two more interceptions in the second, scoring after one of them to finish with 20 points off four Wildcat miscues.

The Wildcats finished with 276 total yards in the game, including 260 yards through the air. C-SC was limited to 16 yards rushing on 19 attempts.

Quarterback Brock Nellor recorded 185 yards passing on 20 of 4 accuracy. Carson Vandello added 75 yards on nine of 19 accuracy. Vandello produced the only touchdown for the Wildcats, connecting with Isaiah Eppinger with a 10-yard pass in the fourth quarter.

Defensively, the Wildcats forced three Yellowjacket turnovers, two interceptions and  a fumble. Dylan DeRosier led the defense with eight tackles. Dexter Marsh recorded two sacks.

The Wildcats are scheduled to play its season finale next Saturday, Nov. 11, at Peru State College in Peru, Neb. Game time is slated for 1 p.m. at the Oak Bowl.
