Men's Basketball Clipped by Park Despite Big Games from Walters-Whitaker, Davis
The Culver-Stockton men's basketball team failed to win consecutive games for the fourth time this season after Park University posted a 75-68 Heart of America Athletic Conference victory at Charles Field House Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats, who upended William Penn University Wednesday night in Oskaloosa, Iowa, have not won back-to-back games this season.
Senior Tai Walters-Whitaker and junior Connor Davis combined for 46 of the Wildcats' 68 points, scoring 24 and 22 markers, respectively. Walters-Whitaker and Davis shot 18-for-39 from the field; however the rest of the team was just 8-for-36 from the floor.
Junior Martez Rhodes did the bulk of the scoring off the bench, registering 15 points in 25 minutes of action in a relief role.
The Wildcats out-rebounded the Pirates 46-38, including 19 offensive caroms, and Walters-Whitaker led the way with a career-high 12 rebounds to finish with his fourth career double-double. Alex Jackson pulled down a nine caroms.
The Wildcats won't have much time to rest as they are slated to host Missouri Valley College this Monday, Feb. 3, in a make up from the postponed game on Jan. 4. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at Charles Field House.
