The Culver-Stockton men's basketball team had three players score 20 or more points in an 82-81 Heart of America Athletic Conference loss to Clarke University Monday night at Charles Field House.

Martez Rhodes recorded 18 of his season-high 20 points, including all six of his 3-pointers, in the second half with the last trey giving the Wildcats an 81-77 lead with 1:50 remaining in the game.

However, the Pride scored with a minute remaining to pull within 81-79 before C-SC missed two opportunities over the next 40 seconds to extend the lead before a turnover after a third offensive rebound led to a scramble on the other end end with Clarke getting a go-ahead 3-pointer with 14 seconds left.

After the Wildcats called timeout with 11 ticks left, Tai Walters-Whitaker was fouled on the baseline with 2.8 seconds remaining, forcing an inbounds pass under the basket.

C-SC inbound the ball to Walters-Whitaker who missed bout a 10-foot jumper as time expired, giving the Pride a come-from-behind victory.

Walters-Whitaker, who scored his 1,000th collegiate point over two schools earlier in the game, led the Wildcats with 23 points. He registered 14 of this points in the opening half when the Wildcats built a 42-37 lead.

Connor Davis, the leagues's leading scorer, also scored 14 points in the opening 20 minutes and finished the night with 22 points in the game.

C-SC out-rebounded Clarke 35-31 overall with Jacob McGhee grabbing nine caroms to lead the hosts. Walters-Whitaker contributed seven rebounds and garnered a team-best five assists in the game.

C-SC is slated to return to action this Thursday, Feb. 13, when they face Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This game was pushed back a day due to the expectant inclement weather forecasted for Wednesday.
