Davis Nets 29 Points to Secure Heart Scoring Title; 'Cats Fall to MVC in Season Finale

The Culver-Stockton men's basketball team concluded the 2024-25 season with an 85-75 loss to Missouri valley College Saturday afternoon in Marshall, Mo.

The Wildcats end the campaign with a 5-23 overall record and a 5-19 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Connor Davis clinched the conference scoring title by scoring a game-high 29 points in the loss to the Vikings. Davis was 7-for-15 from the field, including 3-for-6 from the 3-point arc, and was perfect on 12 free throw attempts. 

Davis ends the season with 574 total points this season, averaging 20.5 points per game. Davis scored in double figures in 26 of the 28 games and had 15 games of 20 or more points n a game, including a career-high 41 points at William Penn on Jan. 29.

The Wildcats registered one of their better shooting games of the season against the Vikings, ending the game shooting 48.1 percent from the field. C-SC was a perfect 17-for-17 from the free throw line.

In addition to Davis, Martez Rhodes and Ryan Stevenson also reached double figures for the Wildcats. Rhodes came off the bench to net 14 points while Stevenson finished with 12 markers.

Davis also led the Wildcats with seven rebounds in the game, the seventh time this season he had grabbed seven or more caroms. Alex Jackson dished out a career-high five assists.
