Men's Basketball Begins New Year with Loss to Graceland

The Culver-Stockton men's basketball team opened the second half of the 2025-26 season with a 75-58 loss to league-leading Graceland University Saturday afternoon at Charles Field House.

The Wildcats fell behind 12-3 to start the game but battled back midway through the half to grab a 16-14 lead.

However, the Yellowjackets, who remained unbeaten in conference play at 7-0, finished the first half on a 25-8 run to lead 39-24 at the intermission. Graceland shot 47 percent from the field in the first half and 45 percent overall for the game.

The Wildcats were out-rebounded in the game 52-27 overall with the visitors grabbing 19 offensive rebounds. That huge advantage led to a 14-5 edge in second chance points and a 48-16 advantage in points in the paint.

Kamren Wires and Travis Green III each scored 13 points to lead the C-SC attack. Wires added four assists. Alex Jackson IV recorded a team-best seven rebounds while Harrison Lewis totaled six caroms, four assists, and four steals.

The Wildcats will play at home again this Wednesday, Jan. 7, when Missouri Baptist University makes a visit to Charles Field House for a Heart of America Athletic Conference game. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
