Men's Basketball Claims Second Straight Victory with Road Win at Clarke

The Culver-Stockton men's basketball team outscored Clarke University 50-40 in the second half to overcome a two-point halftime deficit and post an 85-77 road victory over the Pride Wednesday night at the Kehl Center in Dubuque, Iowa.

The victory marks the first time the Wildcats have won back-to-back games since defeating Health Science and Pharmacy and Harris-Stowe State University on Nov. 4 and Nov. 8. The Wildcats, who snapped a 13-game Heart of America Athletic Conference losing streak Saturday with an 86-70 decision over Park University, ended a six-game Heart road skid with the victory over Clarke.

C-SC shot over 50 percent from the field for the second straight game, including 62 percent in the second half. The Wildcats also registered a season-high 45 rebounds, including 11 offensive caroms, leading to 19 second chance points.

Five Wildcat players scored in double figures with Damar Jenkins netting 23 points to lead the way. It was the fourth time this season Jenkins has scored 20 or more points in a game.

Travis Green III came off the bench and scored 16 points while Damont Hanton and Kamren Wires chipped in with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Alex Jackson IV recorded his second career double-double, finishing with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

The Wildcats are scheduled to return home this Saturday, Jan. 24, with a game against William Woods University. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. at Charles Field House.
