Men's Bowling has Strong Second Day at NAIA West Open

The Culver-Stockton men bowling team totaled 9,251 pinfalls over five team games and 25 baker games to place 11th out of 17 teams in the NAIA West Open held at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kan.

The Wildcats registered 4,456 pins in five team games Saturday, an average of 891.2 pins per game, to sit 13th after the first day. However, C-SC turned in a strong performance in the baker games Sunday, recording 4,795 pinfalls to jump two spots into 11th place. The Wildcats averaged 191.8 pins per game.

Individually, Mason Will was C-SC's top finisher with a 28th place finish among the 109 players competing in the tournament. Will garnered 946 total pins, an average of 189.2 pins per game. He rolled a high game of 232.

Jake Evitts finished 31st overall with an average of 186.6 on 933 total pins. He rolled a high game of 256, while Kody Birmes finished 45th overall and Gavin Moeller 47th overall 884 and 877 pins, respectively.

The men's team is off until they compete in the Columbia 300 Hoosier Classic Feb. 15-16. That event is held at the Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Ind.
