Men's Golf Finishes Ninth at Fighting Scots Fall Invitational

The Culver-Stockton College men's golf team shot a two-day total of 642 to finish ninth in the 11-team Monmouth College Fighting Scots Fall Invitational at Gibson Woods Golf Course in Monmouth, Ill.

The Wildcats carded a 40-over 324 Saturday before improving six shots and recording a 34-over 318 Sunday to finish at 74-over 642. Knox (Ill.) College won the event with a 15-over 583, shooting 292 and 291, respectively.

Individually, the Wildcats were led by Brevin Wilson and Jacob Thomas who each finished 18th overall with scores of 14-over 156. Wilson carded a 9-over 80 the first day but jumped six spots in the standings with a 5-over 76 Sunday. Thomas performed well the first day with a 4-over 75, but shot 10-over 81 Sunday.

Brady Walker placed 32nd overall with a score of 19-over 161, carding scores of 81 and 80. Austin Strubbe finished 47th overall while Leighton Meeker finished 54th overall. Strubbe recorded a 29-over 171 (90-81) and Meeker carded a 33-over 175 (88-87).

The Wildcats return to action Oct. 7-8 at the Central College Fall Invitational which will be played at Finkbine Golf Club in Iowa City, Iowa.
