Thomas Places Sixth in Spring Opening Event
The Culver-Stockton College men's golf team began its spring season with a seventh place finish in the season-opening Baker University Spring Invitational at Eagle Bend Golf Club in Lawrence, Kan.
After struggling during the first round that ended with the Wildcats in eighth place after a team score of 328, C-SC rebounded nicely during the second round, carding a team score of 304 to improve one position. The Wildcats finished at 632 overall. Park (Mo.) won the event with a team score of 571.
Individually, Jacob Thomas registered a top 10 finish with a score of 3-over par. Thomas, who was 3-over after the first round, carded an even par 72 in the second round. Thomas had four birdies and an eagle in the second round.
Rioth Wort was the next highest finisher, placing 42nd overall with a two round score 14-over. Wort shot 3-over Tuesday after. opening the tournament with an 11-over effort.
Brady Walker recorded a 15-over to finish 44th overall while Austin Strubbe placed 65th overall with a two-day score of 31-over par. Leighton Meeker completed the Wildcat five some with a 70th place finish.
