Men's Golf Tunes Up for Heart Tourney at the UHSP Invitational

The Culver-Stockton men's golf team shot a team total of 670 over 36 holes to finish 11th at the UHSP Invitational at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Ill., Monday and Tuesday.

The Wildcats carded a 333 the first day and were in ninth place after 18 holes Monday. However, the Wildcats slipped to a 337 on Tuesday to finish at 102-over par, four strokes behind Southwest Illinois College and six strokes behind Hannibal-LaGrange.

Individually, Brady Walker tied for 20th overall with a score of 10-over 152 score. Walker shot 78 on the first day and 74 on the second day on the par 71 course. His 74 on the second day moved him up six spots on the leaderboard.

Jacob Thomas placed 37th overall with a score of 18-over 160 over the two days. He carded a 78 on the first day but struggled the second day with an 82. Rioth Wort finished 55th overall with a score of 32-over par.

The Wildcats are slated to participate in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament next Monday and Tuesday, April 14-15, in Olathe, Kan. The tournament will be played at the Nicklaus Golf Club at Lions Gate. The first tee time is set for 9 a.m.
