Men's Golf Competes at Crestview Invitational
The Culver-Stockton men's golf team competed in the Crestview Invitational at Crestview Country Club Sept. 15-16 in Wichita, Kan.
The Wildcats finished tied for 10th with a 54-hold team total of 1005, or 141-over par. Kirkwood Community College won the event with a score of 1-over 865.
Individually, Brady Walker was the top finisher for the Wildcats, ending in 33rd place with a total of 12-over 228. Walker shot even par 72 in the first round before falling back to a 79 and a 77 in the next two rounds.
Kenny Tucker placed 54th overall with a score of 30-over 246. Tucker's best round came in the third round when he carded a 79. Alten Lowman placed 58th and Rioth Wort placed 59th, respectively, finishing at 48 and 52-over par. Lowman's best round was the final round with an 84. Wort shot 88 in the second round.
Leighton Meeker concluded the tournament in 60th place with a score of 65-over 281. Meeker had his best round in the first round, finishing with an 88. Austin Strubbe played as an individual and finished 55th overall, carding a score of 38-ove 254. After shooting 84 and 89 in the first two rounds, Strubbe carded an 81 in the final round.
The Wildcats return to action Sept. 29-30 at the Clarke (Iowa) Fall Invitational which will be competed at Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Galena, Ill.
