Wort Leads Wildcat Golf at Clarke

The Culver-Stockton men's golf team competed in the Clarke Spring Invitational in a warmup to the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships in three weeks.

Playing at Eagle Ridge Golf Resort in Galena, Ill., the Wildcats carded a 36-hole score of 111-over par to finish in fifth place in the five team field. C-SC shot a 57-over 345 on Monday before following up with a 54 over 342 Tuesday. The University of Dubuque won the team title with a 69-over two-day score.

Individually, Rioth Wort finished 15th overall with a score of 21-over 165, carding scores of 82 and 83, respectively. Kenny Tucker finished 17th overall and Brady Walker placed 18th overall. Tucker shot 84 the first day and 83 the Tuesday to finish at 23-over 167. Walker shot 85 Monday and 83 Tuesday to end at 24-over 168.

Austin Strubbe and Alten Lowman also competed for the Wildcats. Strubbe finished 26th overall with a 36-hole total of 43-over 187. He recorded rounds of 94 and 93, while Lowman ended up in 27th place with a 36-hole score of 51-over 195, carding scores of 99 and 96.

C-SC is scheduled to compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships April 27-28 at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo. The Wildcats will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
