Four Men's Athletes Compete at Hawkeye Invitational

The Culver-Stockton men's track and field team had four athletes competing in the Hawkeye Invitational at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, Saturday.

Senior Drew Mallett competed in three individual events and one relay during the day. Mallett's best finish came in the high jump where he placed first overall with a mark of 5 feet, 7 inches. Mallett placed sixth in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 10 3/4 inches. On the track, Mallett qualified for the 60-meter hurdle final with a season-best 8.99 seconds. However, he could duplicate that success in the finals and placed seventh overall with a time of 9.35 seconds.

In the 300 meter run, Cade Packard earned a sixth place finish with time of 36.53 seconds, while in the 800 meter run Jailan Reynaga placed sixth with a time of 2:05.54.

The relay team of Mallett, Packard, Reynaga and Eric Lewczyk finished third in the 4x400 relay with a season-best 3:31.56.

The full men's team is slated to compete in the Bumble Rumble at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, next Saturday, Jan. 17. The first events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
