Mallett Provides Only Points for Men's Track at Heart Indoor Championships

The Culver-Stockton men's track and field team totaled just eight points and placed 12th among the 14 school that scored during the two-day Heart of America Athletic Conference Indoor Championships held at Hughes Fieldhouse on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University Friday and Saturday.

The only points accumulated by the Wildcats came fourtesy of Drew Mallett, who placed second in the heptathlon with with a two-day point total of 4,570 points.

Mallett finished first in the pole vault with a mark of 11 feet, 11 3/4 inches for his only event victory of the event.

The senior from LaGrange, Mo., added three third place finishes and three fourth place finishes to go along with his victory.

Mallet placed third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.27 seconds, third in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 10 3/4 inches, and third in the long jump with a leap. of 21 feet, 83/4 inches.

His fourth place finishes included the 60-meter hurdles (9.14 seconds), the 1000-meter run (3:03.90) and the shot put (37'1 3/4).

The Wildcats will now prepare for the outdoor season, which begins with the Wildcat Relays on Saturday, March 14 in Canton, Mo.
