Rivers, Louis Shine at Vikings Classic

A select number of male athletes from the Culver-Stockton track and field men's team competed at the Grand View Vikings Classic in Des Moines, Iowa.

Treyvon Louis highlighted the day for the Wildcats with a pair of third place finishes in the 110-meter and the 400-meter hurdles, respectively. 

Louis covered the 110-meter distance in a time of 16.35 seconds, and the 400-meter distance in the a time of 1:02.22. Teammate Eli Kiser placed fourth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:04.37.

The best overall finish for the Wildcats during the event came in the 400-meter dash where Judah Rivers placed 2nd in a time of 50.97 seconds.

Austin Snoderly registered two top 10 finished during the day, placing sixth in the 200 with a time of 22.73, and finishing 10th in the 100 with a time of11.24 seconds.

In the distance races, Shivneel Dutt placed seventh in the 5000-meter run with a time of 18:24.20.

In the field events, Mason Cygan had the best finish, placing fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 34 feet, 5 inches. Andrew Minnix placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 6 inches, and Garrett Mitchell placed ninth overall in the javelin with a throw of 92 feet, 7 inches.

The Wildcats are slated to compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships next weekend, May 1-2, at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids Iowa.
