Men's Volleyball Drops Match at Dordt

The Culver-Stockton men's volleyball team got off to a quick start for the second straight day but was unable to keep the momentum in a four-set loss to Dordt University in Sioux Center,Iowa.

The Wildcats jumped out to a one set lead with a 25-21 victory to open the match. However, the Defenders reeled off victories in three straight sets to capture a 21-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20 victory, keeping the Wildcats winless in Heart of America Athletic Conference play.

After totaling 18 kills in a five-set loss to Morningside (Iowa) Friday night, Cooper Varner turned in another big attack game with a team-high 15 terminations Saturday. Varner also led the Wildcats with four service aces.

Zach Kowalewicz chipped in with seven kills in the middle, while Rio Victor, Henry Reeves and Clyde Harold all recorded six kills each. Matt Reese led the Wildcats with 25 set assists.

C-SC garnered 13.5 team blocks against the Defenders Saturday after having 10.5 blocks against Morningside on Friday night. 

Bill Clarke Frederick led the front row with five blocks, including one solo and four block assists, while Victor had four block assists. Three other players had three blocks in the match.

The Wildcat return begin a three-match homestand Tuesday night with a match against Graceland University at Charles Field House. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
