Wildcats, Lucas Set Records at Dutch Cross Country Invitational
The Culver-Stockton College men's cross country team placed sixth in the eight team Dutch Cross Country Invitational at Central College in Pella, Iowa.
The Wildcats obliterated the school record for total time, finishing with an overall time of 1:52:09. The previous mark was 2:05:04 in 2009. Central College won its own event with a time of 1:36:40.
Logan Lucas continues to add his name to the C-SC record book, breaking the school record in the 6-kilometer race with a time of 19:38.1. The previous mark was set by Miguel Obregon in 2016 with a time of 23:30.
In addition to the six-kilometer, Lucas, who finished 10th overall, also holds the school records in the 5-kilometer, the four-mile and the 8-kilometer distances.
Jailan Reynaga registered a time of 22:12 to finish 63rd overall while Kile Dowd placed 73rd with a time of 22:35. Chase Lake and Kenny Tucker placed 88th and 89th, respectively, with time of 23:46 and 23:57, while Blake Thompson concluded the five some with a time of 26:03 and in 98th place.
C-SC is back in action again next Saturday when it competes at the Luther All-American Invitational in Decorah, Iowa. The men's race is slated to begin at 12:15 p.m.
