Reynaga is Top Finisher for Wildcats at Les Duke Invitational

The Culver-Stockton men's cross country team competed at the Grinnell College Les Duke Invitational on Saturday morning in Grinnell, Iowa.

The Wildcats finished eighth among the eight college teams compeitng in the the event that featured 136 total runners. C-SC garnered a score of 255 with a team time of 3:04.55, an average of 36::59. Central (Iowa) won the event with a team time of 2:15.35. and 37 points.

The winning time in the eight kilometer event came from James Johnson of Simpson (Iowa) who completed the circuit in a time of 26:10.1.

C-SC's best finish was by sophomore Jailan Reynaga who finished 75th overall in a time of 30:37.6. Shivneel Dutt, running his first collegiate 8K race of his career, placed 89th overall with a time of 31:20.1

Blake Thompson finished the race in 107th place overall, recording a time of 33:37.5, which was just four seconds off his personal best, while Chase Lake placed 115th overall with a time of 34:15.2. Russell Amberson was the final Wildcat runner, finishing in a time of 55:05.0.

The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, Oct. 4, when they compete in the Seminole Valley Stampede at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The men's race is set to begin at 11:30 a.m.
