The Culver-Stockton College softball team began the 2026 campaign with a pair of games at the America State Bank Softball Classic in Sioux Center, Iowa, Friday night.
The Wildcats collected three hits and had just five baserunners in a 7-0 loss to Dakota Wesleyan University in their opening game.
Kataleena Hunt, Leila Lopez, and Cierra Bush all registered hits for C-SC. Hunt and Samantha Vetter were issued walks in the game.
C-SC was no-hit in its second game as host Dordt University shutout the Wildcats 3-0. Vetter was the only Wildcat to reach base, on an error in the fifth inning.
Cabria Childers started in the circle for C-SC, pitching six innings and allowing all three runs on nine base hits. Childers struck out two and walked no one.
C-SC is scheduled to play to more games Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. against York College. The Wildcats conclude the day at 3 p.m. with a game against 22nd-ranked Midland University.
