Vetter Named 2nd Team All-Conference; Childers, Ulu also Recognized
Culver-Stockton College placed three players on the 2026 Heart of America Athletic Conference Softball All-Conference team, the league announced late Thursday afternoon.
Junior Samantha Vetter was named to the second team while sophomore Cabria Childers and junior Aleki Ulu were honorable mention selections. All three players were recognized by the conference for the first time.
Vetter, a catcher/designated player from Huxley, Iowa (Ballard HS / Rock Valley College), played in all 50 games for the Wildcats, recording a .323 batting average with 38 runs scored and 41 runs batted in. Her 41 RBI's were ranked 10th in the conference.
Vetter collected a team high 50 hits with 17 doubles, six triples and two home runs. The 17 doubles were ranked fifth in the conference and were the second-most by a Wildcat player in a single season. Her six triples are tied for most in the Heart this season and is tied for seventh-most by a Wildcat player in a single season.
Childers, a pitcher from Cottonwood, Calif. (West Valley HS / Butte College), appeared in 28 games, including 26 starts, compiling a 15-11 overall record with 19 complete games and one save in her first season with the Wildcats. Childers hurled a team-best 163.0 innings, registered a 2.40 earned run average and struck out 73 batters.
Ulu, a corner infielder from San Jose, Calif. (Willow Glen HS / San Jose CC), played in 49 of the 50 games for the Wildcats, making 47 starts. She batted a team-high .355 with 44 hits and 23 runs scored. Among her 44 hits were seven doubles and two home runs. She also garnered 27 runs batted in and led the team with 21 walks.
The Wildcats finished the 2026 campaign with a 26-24 overall record and a 13-15 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The 26 victories were the most by the softball program since 2019 which is also the last time they had a winning season.
