MNU Too Strong for Wildcats on Senior Day

The Culver-Stockton College women's basketball team was outscored 20-6 in the second quarter by MidAmerica Nazarene University en route to a 66-52 senior day loss at Charles Field House Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats trailed 19-11 after the first quarter buy managed just two free throws from Misora Nambara over the first seven and a half minutes of the second quarter as the Pioneers, ranked 10th in the latest NAIA Top 25 national poll, outscored them 16-2.

C-SC got two free throws from Avery Oetting and a basket by Katie Webb over the final 150 seconds of the quarter as they headed to the locker room trailing 39-17.

The Pioneers increased their lead to 55-30 after three quarters before the Wildcats outscored the visitors 22-11 in the final period to account for the final score.

Oetting led the Wildcat offensive attack with 16 points while Webb chipped i with 10 markers. Six other Wildcats scored but none had more than six points in the game. Nambara led C-SC with four assists while Webb garnered five rebounds to lead the Wildcats in that category.

C-SC begins the final week of the regular season this Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m. at Puckett Fieldhouse.
