Wildcats Regain Winning Ways with Victory at Central Methodist
After losing its last two games to the top two teams in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, the Culver-Stockton women's basketball team regained its winning ways with a 66-45 road victory at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo., Wednesday night.
The Wildcats outscored the Eagles 39-20 in the second half to turn a 27-25 halftime lead into a rout at Puckett Fieldhouse. The victory pulls the Wildcats into a tie for fourth place in the Heart with Missouri Valley College, which they host this Saturday, Feb. 14, at Charles Field House. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
C-SC shot 50 percent (27-54) from the field to improve to 5-0 this season when shooting 50 percent or better in a game. The Wildcats also held a 38-27 rebounding edge. The Wildcats also forced 15 turnovers whirl committing just 14 miscues themselves.
Individually, Avery Oetting led a balanced scoring attack with 15 points. Misora Nambara and Allysa O'Connor chipped in with 13 markers each, while Nevaiah Bell-Tenner and Chloe Burnham has seven points apiece.
Bell-Tenner and Oetting grabbed nine and eight rebounds, respectively, to lead the Wildcats on the glass, while O'Connor dished out five assists, Nambara registered four assists.
