Moore Tabbed at Heart Women's Bowler of the Week

Culver-Stockton College sophomore Rachel Moore has been tabbed as the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Bowler of the Week after her performance at the Starrag Group Warhawk Open in Addison, Ill., last weekend.

Moore, of Keokuk, Iowa (Keokuk HS), earned her third career player of the week honor after securing her first individual tournament victory of the season with a tournament record 227.8 pinfall average in five games. Moore totaled 1,139 pins in her five games, rolling games of 200 or more in four of them.

Moore, who was named NAIA Rookie of the Year last season, opened the day with a 245 game in the first game and followed that up with a 261 in game two. She finished the series with games of 222, 196 and 215, respectively, to help her claim the top spot on the all-tournament team.

The individual victory is the third of Moore's career while the all-tournament nod is the ninth time in her career and the second time this season she has earned that honor.

The Wildcats finished fifth in the tournament with 7,531 total pins gathered between the five team games Saturday and the 16 baker games Sunday. C-SC qualified for bracket play but was eliminated in the first round by Governors State (Ill.) in two games of the best of three series.

C-SC will break for the holidays before returning to action Jan. 18-19 at the Columbia College Clash at AMF Town and Country Lanes in Columbia, Mo.
