Women's Bowling Finish 15th at Team Sectional in Smyrna, Tenn.

The Culver-Stockton women's bowling team competed in the Intercollegiate Team Championships March 14-15 in Smyrna, Tenn., one of four sites across the United States.

The Wildcats' appearance this season is the fifth straight appearance and the sixth overall in program history.

The Wildcats finished 15th overall among the 19 teams competing in the event with 11,266 total pinfalls after 64 baker games. Jacksonville State won the section with 14,259 total pins.

C-SC got off to a good start Saturday by totaling 2,930 pinfalls in the first block of baker games and sat in 11th place. The Wildcats improved one spot and were in 10th place after the second block, totaling 5,865 pins through 32 baker games. C-SC garnered 2,935 pins in the second block.

A poor third block of baker games dropped the Wildcats to 14th after 48 baker games. C-SC totaled 2,747 pins in the block and entered the fourth block of games with 8,612 pinfalls. Then in the fourth and final block, C-SC 2,654 pins, dropping one spot to their final placing in the tournament.

In addition to the team sectionals, four Wildcats also competed in the Intercollegiate Singles Sectional qualifier March 13 in Smyrna.

Rachel Moore was the top finisher for the Wildcats, placing 18th overall with a total of 1,229 pinfalls in six games. She averaged 204.8 pins pe game, rolling games of 235 in the final two games. She also had a 215 game in the opening game.

Jersey Lessenger also competed and placed 33rd overall with 1,171 total pins in six games, an average of 195.2. Lessenger three games of 200 or more, including a high of 225 in game four.

Natalee Alberts, Katelin Valentine and Andi Woods also competed in the singles qualifier with Alberts finishing 104th overall, Valentine 108th overall, and Woods 131st overall. Alberts totaled 1,032 pins, Valentine had 1,028 pinfalls, and Woods registered 959 total pins.
