Women's Golf Competes at Rain-shortened Staco Park Classic
The Culver-Stockton College women's golf team competed in the first round of the Staco Spring Classic at Park University Monday Parkville, Mo. The second round was cancelled Tuesday due to unplayable conditions brought on by inclement weather Monday night.
The Wildcats carded a one day team score of 117-over par 397 to finish fifth in the six-team event played at The Deuce at the National Golf Club. Mount Mercy claimed the team title with a score of 25-over par 305.
Individually, Emily Grodjesk led the five Wildcat players with a 22-over 92 on the par 70 course. Grodjesk finished in a tie for 21st place. Hannah Matrisch ended the first round in a tie for 26th place with a score of 25-over 95.
Natale Ames carded an 18-hole total of 30-over 100 to place 33rd overall while Kyndall Crim and Allie Hayden placed 35th and 36th overall, respectively. Crim shot 40-over 110 and Hayden recorded a 41-over 111.
The women's team is scheduled to return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 5-6 in the Peru State Spring Invitational at Table Creek Golf Course in Nebraska City, Neb.
