Two Women's Golfers Named Daktronics/NAIA Scholar-Athletes
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2024 Daktronics NAIA Women's Golf Scholar-Athletes on Monday. The University of Pikeville (Ky.) has the most in the nation with 10 recipients; followed by Grand View (Iowa) and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods (Ind.) with eight each. Briar Cliff (Iowa), Mount Mercy (Iowa), and SCAD Savannah (Ga.) have recognize seven student-athletes per team.
Culver-Stockton College had two players named to the list. Hannah Matrisch, a senior from Springfield, Ill. (Rochester HS), was honored for the third consecutive season, while sophomore Allie Hayden of Kahoka,, Mo. (Clark County HS), was named for the first time.
The 2024 list features 124 schools and 400 student-athletes who achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. To be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale; appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended one full year at said institution.
