Holm Nets 100th Career Goal in Loss to Missouri Baptist
Culver-Stockton's Addison Holm scored three goals, including the 100th of her career, and added three assists in the Wildcats' 18-6 Heart of America Athletic Conference loss to Missouri Baptist University Saturday afternoon at Spartan Field in St.Louis, Mo.
Holm becomes the second Wildcat player in the seven-year history of the program to crack 100 career goals. She currently has 102 goals in. her two seasons and is just seven goals behind the career record of 119 held by Kaelin Quarles.
As for the game, C-SC got off to a slow start as the Spartans scored the first six goals of the game before the Wildcats' Brookelyn Lindberg dented the net near the end of the first period to get C-SC on the scoreboard. The Wildcats have been outscored 13-1 in the first quarter in the last two games.
C-SC was better over the next two quarters but were still unable to make a dent in the deficit as the Spartans still outscored the visitors 9-5 over that span. Missouri Baptist scored the only three goals of the fourth quarter.
C-SC was outshot 45-14 overall with the Spartans holding a 30-11 edge on shots on goal. Lindberg contributed two goals on three shots for C-SC, while Jacee Grinsteinner garnered the other goal for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats are scheduled to close the regular season this Wednesday, April 15, against Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP) in St. Louis. Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
