Women's Soccer Beats Fontbonne in First Road Match

The Culver-Stockton College women's soccer team improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 3-1 non-conference victory over Fontbonne University Tuesday night at Clayton High School in St. Louis, Mo.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 3-0 lead against the Griffins, who won the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) last season. C-SC, which improved to 2-0 on the year, is slated to return home this Saturday, Sept. 2, to battle Missouri Baptist University. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Ellison Poulton Stadium.
Scoring goals for the winners were Morgan Dierks Machado, her first as a Wildcat, Savannah Stauffer, and Halle Jennex, who scored on a penalty kick. Maggie Tuxhorn assisted on Machado's goal while Mikayla Gioia assisted on the Stauffer tally.
Rylee Loftus registered her second straight victory in net.
