Women's Soccer Gets Road Tie at Baker
The Culver-Stockton women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Baker University Saturday night at Hartley Field in Baldwin City, Kan.
The Wildcats began the scoring in the opening 10 minutes of the game when Lexi Clark scored in the eighth minute to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.
C-SC protected that lead until the 77th minute when Baker was able to get a shot past Isabella Williamson. Nether team was able to score in the final 13 minutes, resulting in the Wildcats' second tie of the season.
The Wildcats outshot Baker 11-6 in the contest with a 4-3 edge of shots on goal. Williamson made two saves, one in each half, in the game.
Alayna Chandler-Gutierrez led C-SC with three shots overall, including one shot on goal. Three other players, Audrey Glasmann, Leilani Harworth and Clark all registered two shots in the match.
C-SC, now 5-6-2 overall and 2-5-1 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, is scheduled to play at MidAmerica Nazarene University next Saturday, Oct. 11, in Olathe, Kan. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
