No. 22 MNU Scores Four in Opening Half; Defeats Wildcats 6-2

The Culver-Stockton women's soccer team allowed four goals in the first half en route to a 6-2 Heart of America Athletic Conference loss to 22nd-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene University Saturday afternoon in Olathe, Kan.

The Wildcats were outshot 13-3 in the opening half and 23-6 overall in the game. The Pioneers also held a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.

The Wildcats, trailing 5-0, finally got on the scoreboard when Lexi Clark sent a long pass to a streaking Alayna Chandler-Gutierrez who chipped a shot from 25 yards out over the Pioneer goalkeeper to spoil the shutout.

C-SC netted its second goal with the help from MidAmerica Nazarene. The Pioneers tried to send a pass back to the goalkeeper; however, they whiffed on the pass and Breah Morris was able to pick up the loose ball and punch it into the open net.

The Wildcats return home for the next three matches beginning Wednesday night, Oct. 15, against Graceland University. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at Ellison Poulton Stadium.
