Women's Soccer Wins Home Finale with Four Unanswered Goals

The Culver-Stockton College women's soccer team scored four answered goals to send the senior class out with a 4-1 victory over William Woods in the final home match of the 2025 season Friday night at Ellison Poulton Stadium.

The Owls scored first when the visitors took advantage of C-SC goalkeeper Sam Link being on the ground after punching the ball out to take a 1-0 lead.

The Wildcats answered when Rian Moore scored her ninth goal of the season 10 minutes later to tie the game. Moore then gave the Wildcats the lead just before halftime when she curled in a corner kick inside the near post as both teams battled for possession. It was her 10th goal of the season.

C-SC extended its lead to 3-1 in the 77th minute when Halle Jennex picked up a loose ball in front of the Owl net after taking a header from Leilani Harworth off a re-start from Moore.

The Wildcats scored their fourth goal of the game two minutes later and it was Moore starting the play with a corner kick and finding Mikayla Gioia who headed past the Owl goalkeeper for the Wildcats' fourth straight goal.

C-SC outshot the visitors 16-11 in the game and held an 11-1 edge in corner kicks, scoring on two of them.

Link rebounded and made two saves in the second half to register the victory in net. She faced just three shots on goal.

C-SC is scheduled to play its regular season finale this Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa. Game time is slated for 5 p.m.
