Women's Track Finishes Sixth at Finals Week Invitational

The Culver-Stockton women's track and field team registered 48 total team points to finish sixth at the Finals Week Invitational held at Saint Ambrose University Dec. 11-12 in Davenport, Iowa.

The Wildcats claimed one event title while finishing second in two others. C-SC also had one third place finish and three fourth place finishes. 

The one event the Wildcat claimed was the 4x800 relay. The team of Samantha Stone, Malia Carmack, Erin Peppler and Emma Berry completed the circuit in 10:41.86.

C-SC finished second, third and fourth in the 1,000-meter run with Stone leading the pack with a time of 3:21.59. Carmack finished third in a time of 3:23.65, which was a personal best, and Peppler who placed fourth overall with a time of 3:27.46.

Emma Berry turned in a second place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 22:15.42 while Emma Smith placed fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.92 seconds.

In the field events, Kinlie Judd recorded a fourth place finish in the pole vault with a jump of 8 feet, 10 1/4 inches.

The Wildcats will break for the holidays before returning Jan. 10 to compete in the Battle in the Hive at Saint Ambrose. The first events are stated to begin at 11 a.m.
