Women's Track and Field Place Ninth at Grinnell
The Culver-Stockton women's track and field team finished ninth among the 14 collegiate teams competing at the Grinnell Invitational Saturday afternoon in Grinnell, Iowa.
The Wildcats accumulated 17 team points from three different events during the meet. The best finish for the Wildcats came in the Distance Medley where the team of Malia Carmack, Victoria Pollard, Erin Peppler and Emma Berry placed second with a time of 14:19,47.
Individually, Emma Smith registered a top eight finish in the 60-meter dash, placing sixth overall with a time of 8 seconds flat. Pollard earned a point in the 200-meter dash by running a season-best 28.13 seconds to finish eighth overall.
Carmack, in addition to her relay success, also set a personal high time in the 800-meter run, finishing in a time of 2:34.28, good for 13th overall.
The Wildcats are scheduled to compete in the Luther All-America Invitational next Saturday, Feb. 7, in Decorah, Iowa. The first events are set to start competing at 11 a.m.
