Women's Track and Field Finish 11th at Heart Outdoor Championships

The Culver-Stockton College women's track and field team recorded 23.33 team points to finish 11th at the 2026 Heart of America Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships presented by 516 Sports Capital.

Central Methodist captured the team championship with 237.5 points in the event held at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, May 1-2.

Individually, Abagail Mooney finished sixth in the heptathlon with 3,265 points, which was a personal best for the sophomore from Silex, Mo. Mooney set personal bests in the 100-meter hurdles, the javelin and the shot put during the event.

Mooney also gave the Wildcats in the pole vault competition with a seventh place finish, vaulting a season best 9 feet, 1 1/2 inches. Teammate Kinlie Judd tied for eighth in the pole vault, hitting a mark of 8 feet, 7 1/2 inches.

Senior Delaney Straus, who hasn't competed much of the outdoor season due to injury, returned for the conference championships and recorded points in three individual events.

Straus set a school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:44.84, which was good for fourth place overall. She also placed eighth in the 800 with a time of 2:24.37, and seventh in the javelin with a throw of 123 feet, 2 inches, which was also a personal best.

Erin Peppler was the third individual to register points for the Wildcats, placing third in the 5000-meter race walk with a time of 29:06.99.

C-SC also set a school record in the 4x800 relay as Straus, Peppler, Malia Carmack and Samantha Stone finished fifth overall with a time of 9:54.04.
