Emma Miller Named Women's Volleyball Coach
Culver-Stockton College Athletic Director Pat Atwell has announced the appointment of Emma Miller as the next coach of the women's volleyball team.
"We are extremely excited that Emma has agreed to lead our women's volleyball program, said Atwell. "She has the characteristics that we are looking for in a head coach, and she specifically wanted to be the coach at Culver-Stockton College.
"Emma grew up in the area and has family here which made this a very attractive job for her. I like the fact that she is a sitting head coach with multiple years of experience and has administrative experience. She will have a feel for what it takes to not only coach but to run a program."
Miller comes to the Wildcat program after spending three seasons as the head coach of Brescia University in Owensboro, Ky. During her time at Brescia, Miller coached six River States All-Conference players. She replaces Josh Branan who coached the Wildcats for one season, finishing with a 9-22 record during the 2025 campaign.
"I'd like to thank Pat Atwell and everyone involved in the hiring process for the opportunity to lead the Wildcats women's volleyball program," said Miller. "I am both incredibly grateful and excited to start this next chapter of my coaching career at a great school.
"I'm eager to work with the student athletes and cultivate a strong team culture committed to excellence, dedication, and sportsmanship in the classroom, on the court, and in life."
Prior to her position at Brescia, Miller began her coaching career as the head coach for Lincoln Community High School, leading the Railsplitters from six or less win seasons to a 30-win campaign in 2022 and a second place finish in the Apollo Conference.
A native of Augusta, Ill., Miller received an associate degree from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Ill., in 2018, obtained her bachelor's degree from Lincoln (Ill.) College in 2020, and a master's degree from Illinois State University in Normal in 2021, During her time at Lincoln, Miller was a member of the volleyball program and was named to the all-conference team and setter of the year in 2019.
While at Illinois State, Miller served as a Special Events Graduate Assistant where she helped plan, organize, and coordinate events. After graduating from Illinois State, she served as the Assistant to the Athletic Director at Lincoln College from 2021-2022.
