Culver-Stockton College junior Delaney Straus was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week award for the second straight week after her performance last week in the Dutch Invitational at Central College in Pella, Iowa.

Straus finished sixth in a loaded field that included several cross country and track and field All-Americans. Running on one of the truest cross country courses in America full of hills, Straus finished the 5-kilmeter race in 19:47.8. That time is the second-best time in program history, just 11 seconds behind Abri Perchetti's 19:36 mark in 2016.

Straus earned the Heart accolade on Sept. 2 after setting a school record at the four-kilometer distance in the season-opening Great River Open in Canton, Mo., finishing first with a time of 14:44.

Straus and the rest of her Wildcat teammates will be in action again this Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Luther All-America Invitational in Decorah, Iowa. The women's race is slated to start at 11:45 a.m.
