Delaney Straus Recognized by Heart for Third Consecutive Week
Culver-Stockton College junior Delaney Straus has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for her performance at the Luther All-American Invitational Saturday in Decorah, Iowa, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Straus, of Philadelphia, Mo. (Marion County HS), was honored for the third consecutive after setting a personal best at the five-kilometer distance and placing seventh in a tough field that featured NCAA Division III and NAIA national qualifiers. She completed the course in 19:46.8, topping her previous best from the week before 19:47.8.
After running three straight weekends, the Wildcats will take a couple of weeks off before participating in the Seminole Valley Stampede at Munt Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Oct. 5.
