Women's Cross Country Places 17th at Seminole Stampede
The Culver-Stockton women's cross country team recorded a team time of 2:22.36 to place 17th overall among the 25 schools competing in the Seminole Valley Stampede Saturday morning at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Wildcats finished with 463 total points, finishing 28 minutes behind eventual winner Aquinas (Mich.) which totaled 63 points and a team time of 1:54.0.
C-SC's Delaney Straus was the Wildcats' top finisher in the race, completing the 6-kilometer circuit in 26:13.5, which was good for 92nd place. Emma Berry fared well and placed 104th overall with a time of 26:44.8, while Erin Peppler finished in a time of 27:32.7 and placed 126th overall.
Malia Carmack finished several seconds behind Peppler, 27:46.3, to place 131st overall, and Marianna Fredricks, running in her first race of the season, placed 168th overall in a time of 34:19.1.
The Wildcats are scheduled to compete next Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Trojan Invitational at Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, Mo. The women's race is slated to start at 11 a.m.
