Wildcats Held to Lowest Point Total of the Season in Home Loss to HLGU

The Culver-Stockton men's basketball team was held to its lowest point total of the season in a 69-51 loss to Hannibal-LaGrange University Monday night at Charles Field House.

The Wildcats, who previous low was also against the Trojans in a 76-60 setback on Oct. 31 in Hannibal. It is the first time HLGU has swept the season series from the Wildcats since the 2016-17 season.

C-SC's shooting was as cold as the weather outside.

The Wildcats made just 16 of their 59 shot attempts overall for 27.1 percent from the field. C-SC missed its first 17 three-point attempts of the game and finished 2-for-20 overall from outside the 3-point stripe. Meanwhile, HLGU made 11 treys in the game leading to a 33-6 advantage from long distance. 

Despite a dismal night shooting the basketball overall, Damont Hanton was able to manage a double-double for the Wildcats, scoring 14 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Kamren Wires finished with nine points while Alex Jackson IV chipped in with eight markers.

The Wildcats return to Heart of America Athletic Conference play Wednesday night, December 3, at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
