Men's Soccer Suffers First Defeat Despite Scoring First at Saint Ambrose
The Culver-Stockton College men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season with a 3-1 setback at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, Wednesday afternoon.
The Wildcats notched the first goal of the game in the 31st minute on a goal from Aiden Greiner with an assist from Irgen Hasanaj.
However, the Bees scored two goals in the final three minutes of the first half, and then added a third goal in the first three minutes of the second half to remain unbeaten after four matches.
C-SC was outshot in the match 19-11 and the Bees held a 11-4 edge in corner kicks. Each team had a played booked in the game with a caution.
The Wildcats (1-1-2) start Heart of America Athletic Conference play this Saturday, Sept. 6, at home against fifth-ranked William Penn University. Game time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Ellison Poulton Stadium.
